Chatri Sityodtong Meets With Former US President Barack Obama
ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong recently rubbed shoulders with one of the most influential world leaders from the past decade.
Barack Obama, the former President of the United States, has been traveling around Asia with his Obama Foundation — a non-profit organization with the mission “to inspire people to take action, empower them to change their world for the better, and connect them so they can achieve more together.”
Obama spoke to hundreds of attendees at the 2019 Obama Foundation Leaders: Asia-Pacific Convening in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last week.
However, he also reached out to other prominent business heads and industry leaders in the Southeast Asia region – including Sityodtong – for more intimate discussions.
“I was invited to sit down with President Barack Obama for a private meeting in his hotel suite with a few other CEOs for approximately an hour to discuss business in Asia,” Sityodtong wrote on Facebook.
Throughout the course of the nearly 60-minute meeting, Obama engaged with his guests. Not only did the former American president teach through his actions and behavior, but he also learned more about business in the region.
“As a big sports fan and basketball player himself, President Obama could immediately appreciate the important role that ONE Championship has in shaping culture, values, and society for the next generation around the world,” the ONE Championship Chairman and CEO added.
The meeting, as well as Obama’s familiarity with Sityodtong’s mission, shows that The Home Of Martial Arts’ message is being conveyed to an ever-growing and receptive global audience.
