Fernandes-Lineker, Prajanchai-Lasiri Added To ONE: LIGHTS OUT
Before ONE Championship dives headfirst into its 10-year anniversary show, ONE X, the promotion is kicking off March Madness with a monstrous event that features a trio of World Title fights.
On Friday, 11 March, the world’s largest martial arts organization brings ONE: LIGHTS OUT to the Singapore Indoor Stadium, where the superstars of the lower weight divisions will step forward to bask in the spotlight.
As previously announced, ONE Featherweight World Champion Thanh Le defends his gold against #2-ranked contender Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon in the main event.
In addition, the co-main events have officially been set.
ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes defends his belt against top-ranked contender John “Hands of Stone” Lineker, and newly crowned ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai PK.Saenchai makes his first title defense against #3-ranked Joseph “The Hurricane” Lasiri.
Fernandes and Lineker were set to fight for the bantamweight gold at ONE: BAD BLOOD last Friday.
However, “Hands of Stone” was forced to withdraw from the contest due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
Now, the match has been rescheduled for ONE: LIGHTS OUT, and this heated rivalry will finally get settled.
Also, Prajanchai puts his ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title on the line for the first time at the show.
The Thai phenom earned the belt by defeating former two-sport ONE World Champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao in July 2021.
For his sophomore appearance on the global stage, Prajanchai meets Lasiri, who has won his last two fights in the Circle. This includes a split-decision win over Rocky Ogden and a knockout over Asahi Shinagawa.
If the Italian underdog can make it three-in-a-row in Singapore, he’ll earn the richest prize in the sport for his efforts.
