Full Card Revealed For ONE Friday Fights 1 From Lumpinee Boxing Stadium On January 20
The full fight card for ONE Championship’s historic first event at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium has been confirmed.
On Friday, January 20, ONE Friday Fights 1 will bring a mix of Muay Thai and MMA to the iconic venue in Bangkok, Thailand, with local legends competing alongside elite athletes from across the globe live in Asia primetime.
The event, known as ONE Lumpinee 1 in Thailand, will be headlined by the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship matchup between defending titleholder Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and #2-ranked contender Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov.
In addition, there will be five all-Thai battles, including a co-main event tilt between former ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai PK.Saenchai and two-division Lumpinee Stadium World Champion Kompet Sitsarawatsuer.
Joining those all-Thai battles will be an atomweight tussle between Petbanrai Singha Mawynn and Khunsueklek Ufaboomdeksean, a bantamweight showdown between Sansiri Pet Por.Tor.Or and Komawut FA.Group, a flyweight clash between Tai Sor.Jor.PiekUthai and Sonrak Fairtex, and a catchweight banger with Sagaengarm Jitmuangnon and Suayai Chor.Haapayak.
There will be plenty of international talent, too, including a hard-hitting 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai clash between Seksan Or. Kwanmuang and Tyson Harrison.
Seksan is a fighter who will need no introduction to hardcore fans. A Sports Authority of Thailand Fighter of the Year and a multiple-time World Champion, the 33-year-old is considered one of the most exciting and aggressive strikers of all time.
However, this is a massive chance for Harrison, who is hoping to topple an icon in his promotional debut. With 12 knockouts among his 22 career victories, the Australian rising star has the firepower to make an impression in the biggest battle of his career.
Bangkok-based Brazilian Richard Godoy and Russia’s Alexy Lyapunov are set to duke it out in a lightweight MMA clash between submission specialists.
BJJ black belt Godoy has 10 submissions in 14 career wins, while Lyapunov has tapped out five of his opponents in 10 successful outings.
Moreover, the two promotional newcomers have just seven combined losses, and victory could push them toward some of the division’s biggest names.
Muangthai PK.Saenchai is coming off his 2022 Muay Thai Fight of the Year against Liam Harrison, and he’ll return to action against Uzbekistan’s Mavlud Tupiev.
The man known as “Elbow Zombie” won World Title gold at Lumpinee Stadium earlier in his career, so he’ll feel right at home in the Bangkok venue.
However, Tupiev has been training hard alongside many top ONE stars at Tiger Muay Thai, and he’s another athlete with everything to gain in a tough debut appearance.
UK standout Josh Hill steps into the world’s largest martial arts organization after a banner year in 2022, when he defeated some big names in Muay Thai and earned an ISKA World Title.
He’ll face Keivan Soleimani in a lightweight Muay Thai clash, with the Iranian slugger also representing Phuket’s famous Tiger Muay Thai gym.
Japan’s Akihiro Fujisawa will welcome American wrestler Colton Kielbasa to ONE in a flyweight MMA contest between East and West.
And Greek striker Angelos Giakoumis is scheduled to kick-start the proceedings against Iran’s Mohammed Sadeghi in a flyweight Muay Thai curtain-raiser.
