Full Card Revealed For ONE Friday Fights 32 On September 8
On Friday, September 8, the world-renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, will once again play host to an action-packed card of intriguing ONE Championship bouts.
A pair of pivotal Muay Thai contests have already been announced for ONE Friday Fights 32, and now the full slate of fights is set.
The main event will see two of Thailand’s top rising stars go toe-to-toe in a strawweight Muay Thai clash. Two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Kompet Fairtex takes on 20-year-old Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Kongchai Chanaidonmueang.
With over 80 professional victories to his resume, Kompet came to the world’s largest martial arts organization with high expectations behind him. However, he suffered a hard-fought defeat against current ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai in his promotional debut in January.
The 23-year-old bounced back to the win column in June with an electrifying kickboxing victory over Chinese standout Huo Xiaolong.
He’ll now return to Muay Thai and look to put a stop to the Kongchai hype train.
Fighting out of the famed Sangtiennoi Gym, Kongchai has looked nothing short of spectacular in his ONE tenure thus far. He’s won four straight to establish himself as a serious threat in the crowded strawweight Muay Thai division.
Lower on the card, fearless Belgian brawler Jelte Blommaert returns to battle Japanese sensation Takuma Ota in a 126-pound catchweight Muay Thai bout that has the makings of an all-out war.
Never one to take a step backward, Blommaert has endeared himself to the Thai fans thanks to his relentless, take-no-prisoners approach to striking.
And in the other corner, Ota will make his highly anticipated promotional debut. One of Japan’s most talented young fighters, the 24-year-old has the physical tools, experience, and confidence to make waves in the organization.
Finally, Muay Thai won’t be the only sport on tap, as Brett “The American Nomad” Pastore aims to give a rude welcome to undefeated Russian prodigy Ivan Podrugin in their lightweight MMA showdown.
Pastore impressed in his ONE debut in July with a three-round shellacking of Emran Hafizoglu, but he’ll have his hands full against the 22-year-old Raty Team product, who has finished all four of his professional victories by way of submission.
