Full Card Revealed For ONE Friday Fights 72 On July 26
On July 26, the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, will once again play host to an action-packed lineup of martial arts in Asia primetime.
Featuring four different combat sports disciplines and an explosive Muay Thai showdown in the headline attraction, ONE Friday Fights 72 gives fans plenty of reasons to tune in.
In the main event, French-Algerian knockout artist Joachim “Pantera” Ouraghi will look for the biggest victory of his career when he takes on former two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Kongsuk Fairtex in a flyweight tilt.
The 29-year-old Ouraghi lived up to the hype in his promotional debut this past January, knocking out local hero Gingsanglek Tor Laksong with a savage body shot. “Pantera” would stumble in his sophomore appearance, though, and is hungry to bounce back in this high-profile showdown.
Standing in his way is Thailand’s own Kongsuk.
The decorated 24-year-old owns a 3-2 record at ONE Friday Fights and knows that a strong showing against Ouraghi would move him closer to a coveted six-figure contract and a spot on ONE’s global roster.
Before that, entertaining fan favorites Jelte Blommaert and Theptaksin Sor Sornsing will throw down in a 126-pound catchweight Muay Thai fight that promises fireworks for as long as it lasts.
Both men are known for their fearless approach to combat, and each will come into this contest riding high after impressive victories in their last outings.
Lower on the card, Australian sensation Alex “The Viking” Roberts returns for the first time since his unsuccessful bid for the ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title to face Russian bruiser Beybulat Isaev in a light heavyweight Muay Thai clash.
Even though Roberts came up short in his battle for gold against two-sport kingpin Roman Kryklia, the 35-year-old remains one of the planet’s most skilled and dangerous strikers.
For his part, Isaev is a former WMC Muay Thai World Champion, and with five thrilling fights in ONE under his belt, he’s proven to be an elite talent.
Also, 19-year-old Freddie Haggerty – the younger brother of reigning ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty – will square off with 23-year-old rising star Kaichon Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang in a strawweight Muay Thai bout.
Haggerty scored a spectacular knockout in his promotional debut at ONE Friday Fights 46. The hard-hitting Brit seemingly has all the physical tools and refined technique to follow in his brother’s World Championship footsteps.
However, Kaichon is no pushover. Like Haggerty, he impressed in his successful ONE debut earlier this year and now hopes to derail his foe’s hype train in front of a raucous Bangkok crowd.
