Full Card Revealed For ONE Friday Fights 94 On January 17
ONE Championship is up and running in 2025, and the hottest weekly series in combat sports steps back into the limelight in Asia primetime this Friday, January 17.
ONE Friday Fights 94 will take place at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, as rising stars in Muay Thai and MMA chase a US$100,000 contract with the world’s largest martial arts organization.
The main event is an enthralling flyweight Muay Thai matchup, as Thai standout Puengluang Baanramba squares off with 19-year-old phenom Akif Guluzada of Azerbaijan.
Puengluang’s ONE Friday Fights tenure got off to a flying start. The 25-year-old won his first six outings – including knockouts of Jomhod Chor Ketwina, Khunponnoi Sor Sommai, and Sonrak Fairtex – but he’s gone 1-2 over his last three contests.
Those losses came against powerful opponents in Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi and Yodlekpet Or Atchariya, so Puengluang will be looking to bounce back and prove he can hang with the best strikers on the planet.
For his part, 19-year-old Guluzada has showcased sensational striking since arriving in ONE.
“King” debuted in July at ONE Friday Fights 72, putting on a kickboxing masterclass against Haruto Yasumoto. Next returning to his bread and butter of Muay Thai, he impressed with a first-round demolition of Samingdam Looksuan and will be aiming to stay perfect in the weekly series this Friday.
In another featured bout, England’s Otis Waghorn locks up with Pentor SP Kansart Paeminburi in a 143-pound catchweight Muay Thai battle that’s unlikely to require the judges’ input.
Across two appearances in ONE, Waghorn’s fighting style has been worth the price of admission. He arrived with a landmark knockout of Kongklai Sor Sommai in a drag-out war before losing a narrow majority decision to Suakim Sor Tor Tongprajin last September.
His 20-year-old dance partner will be looking to earn the biggest win of his promotional run. Pentor has earned consecutive decisions in the weekly series over Jack Jackmuaythai Gym and Thongsiam Lukjaoporongtom, and he’ll be looking for his first knockout against an established foe.
Elsewhere on the card, former ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Natalia Diachkova returns to the fold against Canada’s Taylor McClatchie.
This marks Diachkova’s first outing since her unsuccessful World Title bid against former divisional queen Smilla Sundell at ONE Fight Night 22. However, she’s already earned a six-figure contract and has proven to be one of the most dangerous women’s strawweight strikers with three knockouts in four ONE wins.
On the other side, McClatchie plans to make a huge splash in her promotional debut, and a strong performance against Diachkova would do just that.
Opening the show will be a pair of MMA bouts, as Fajar tackles Jean Claude Saclag in flyweight action, while debutants Ramazan Karimov and Erzhan Zhanyshbek Uulu meet in the featherweight division.
