‘Going To Be A Banger On Prime Video’ – Danial Williams Expects Fireworks In Pivotal Fight With Jeremy Miado

Danial Williams is declared the winner at ONE 159

“Mini T” Danial Williams is ready to stage another barnburner when he returns to the Circle on Friday, October 21.

The surging Australian-Thai slugger will take on Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado on the main card of ONE on Prime Video 3: Lineker vs. Andrade, and he thinks their combined styles will deliver wild action for the fans watching live in U.S. primetime.

Both strawweights are riding three-fight winning streaks into this mixed martial arts contest at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

And after Williams recently leapfrogged Miado to claim the division’s #5 contender spot, this showdown will have huge implications for the World Title picture.

“Mini T” said:

“I was happy with this matchup as soon as it was thrown to me. I didn’t even take two seconds to think twice about it.

“Me and Miado makes total sense. He’s on the same brink as I am. He was in the top five a few months ago. Now I stole it, so a win for both of us here is pivotal.

“We’re in the same boat. There’s a lot on the line for both of us, and this is why this one is going to be a banger on Prime Video.”

Williams has already reached the pinnacle as a striker by claiming the WMC Muay Thai World Title in 2015.

Now, he’s looking to challenge for gold in MMA, and he expects to deal with a completely different level of competition when he goes toe-to-toe with “The Jaguar.”

Similar to “Mini T,” Miado is a dangerous striker and a proven finisher – something he’s put to good use against elite strawweight competitors like Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, Lito Adiwang, and Miao Li Tao.

Williams said of his upcoming foe:

“I love Jeremy Miado as a fighter. He’s exciting to watch, he’s got some good wins behind him against some really notable opponents. So, I’m not taking him lightly at all. He’s a good challenge.

“He’s a former ranked guy for a reason, and I believe he’s better than anyone I’ve ever faced in MMA in ONE. I really look up to him.”

Danial William Hopes To Earn World Title Shot With Knockout

While Danial Williams has plenty of respect for Jeremy Miado, he still feels confident ahead of their clash at ONE on Prime Video 3.

All five of Miado’s wins in ONE have come inside the distance, with the majority via his concussive boxing.

“Mini T” certainly recognizes that threat, but he also sees some stylistic advantages that he plans to capitalize on in the stand-up exchanges.

He said:

“Miado comes in hard, so I’m definitely going to tuck my chin in because I’m well-aware of his KO power. I’m not going to take too many risks when it comes to brawling with him.

“But I believe my power, speed, angles, and mobility will be my advantages against him. And I just feel that I’m going to be a little bit difficult for him because he’s never really fought a striker who can move like me. He’s a bit linear, straight-lined, and can be predictable with his shots. That’ll be his weakness that I want to exploit with my movement.”

With the #5 ranking and their respective three-fight winning runs at stake, both men know that an impressive victory could open a lot of doors in the weight class.

For Williams, he believes a finish would elevate him into the division’s elite and even prepare him to jump in should Joshua Pacio or Jarred Brooks withdraw from their ONE Strawweight World Title fight in December.

In a similar vein, he’d love to step up if old foe Rodtang Jitmuangnon or Joseph Lasiri can’t make their ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title showdown in November.

But of course, a victory over Miado must come first.

“Mini T” added:

“Someone’s definitely getting stopped here, but it’s not going to be me. It doesn’t matter when it comes. All that matters is that I go there and get the finish.

“[Getting the win and then stepping into a World Title fight would be the] perfect scenario. Even with Rodtang and Lasiri too. Either one of those men pull out, I’d love to slip in there.”
