‘Going To Take Him Out Quick’ – Christian Lee Plans To Leave No Doubt In Ok Rae Yoon Rematch

MMA stars Christian Lee and TImofey Nastyukhin fight at "ONE on TNT II"

Still stinging from losing his ONE Lightweight World Title last year, Christian Lee thinks redemption is close at hand.

The Singaporean-American superstar will enter as the challenger against lightweight king Ok Rae Yoon at ONE 160 on August 26, but he still feels like the favorite in this highly anticipated rematch.

Lee believed he beat the South Korean in their first World Title showdown last year, and he expects to gain the upper hand when they run it back.

At the same time, he knows that continuing to protest the decision loss won’t do anything to change it. And with that in mind, “The Warrior” will bring different tactics into their second battle.

He explained:

“If you look at ONE Championship’s scoring criteria, I won in every area. If we go on near finish and you go on the damage done – I broke his orbital in the first round, I dropped him big in the third round, and I came close to getting two submissions. That really speaks for itself.

“The only credit I do give him is being able to last all five rounds and having the cardio to keep a good pace throughout all five rounds. So, in my opinion, I still won the fight, but I’m definitely not going to go into the [rematch] with the same game plan.”

Lee has earned 14 finishes in his 15 career MMA victories, and he thinks that ability is the biggest key to settling the score with Ok at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

After losing on the scorecards last time, the former lightweight king wants to avoid leaving anything to the judges. Plus, he knows that questions will remain if he defeats the South Korean with a decision of his own.

With all of that considered, “The Warrior” is preparing to reclaim the throne and make an emphatic statement that leaves no doubt about this rivalry.

He said:

“I definitely believe that I’m going to win this fight. If it is a close decision I can see how they can set up a trilogy fight, but if the fight goes how I plan on it going – I’m going to take him out quick and finish him – then there’s going to be no need for a rematch.”

Christian Lee Thinks Prime Video Deal Is Massive Boost For ONE

August 26 will be a historic day for ONE Championship.

First, ONE 160: Ok vs. Lee II will air live in Asian primetime. And hours later, ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II will broadcast live in North American primetime.

The latter card will feature the ONE Flyweight World Title rematch between reigning king Adriano Moraes and MMA great Demetrious Johnson – and mark the start of ONE’s new multi-year partnership with Amazon Prime Video Sports.

For his part, ONE Lightweight World Title challenger Christian Lee says the partnership is a huge step forward for the martial arts promotion in the United States and Canada.

Moreover, the Hawaii native thinks the deal will be a huge success for ONE, its athletes, and the global fan base.

“The Warrior” added:

“I think this deal with Amazon Prime is really going to take ONE Championship to another level, especially as they break into the U.S. market.

“I’m glad to see how ONE Championship is just stepping up their game and getting to bigger and bigger platforms. I’m glad and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
