“Knowlesy” will step into Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium to challenge two-sport king Roman Kryklia for his ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 30 on Prime Video, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime this Friday, April 4.
Widely regarded as his country’s top heavyweight Muay Thai fighter, Knowles is no stranger to ONE’s bright lights. In fact, the English luminary has coached and cornered reigning ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty numerous times during his tenure in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
Recently, the bantamweight kickboxing king and his younger brother, Freddie Haggerty, spoke to onefc.com about their friend and training partner at Knowlesy Academy.
Jonathan Haggerty: ‘Lyndon Is A Very Cool Character’
According to Jonathan Haggerty, Lyndon Knowles’ move up from the ultra-tough British Muay Thai circuit to the global stage has been a long time coming.
“The General” said:
“I’m very excited for him to be finally in ONE Championship. He’s a great athlete. For years, he’s been dominating the division in the UK, and I feel like now is the time to get what he deserves.”
As a three-time WBC Heavyweight Muay Thai World Champion with two decades of fighting experience under his belt, Knowles has erased any doubt that he belongs among the best of the best in ONE.
