Hiroko Akimoto Vs. Petchtanong Petchfergus World Title Clash To Headline ONE 163 On November 19
Hiroki Akimoto will defend his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title for the first time on Saturday, November 19.
The recently crowned king will take on esteemed Thai veteran Petchtanong Petchfergus in the main event of ONE 163 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Akimoto has been on a tear since 2019, posting five straight victories in ONE Championship, which culminated in his World Title win over Capitan Petchyindee at ONE X this past March.
The karate stylist also defeated the likes of Zhang Chenglong and Qiu Jianliang during the streak that pushed his overall record to a sterling 26-1.
With a relentless work rate and a wide range of tools, Akimoto has looked better and better with every performance inside the Circle.
Next up, the 30-year-old has another tough test in WMC and WBC Muay Thai World Champion Petchtanong.
The 36-year-old Thai star rebounded from a debut defeat to Capitan with a strong display against Zhang at ONE: REVOLUTION, earning the division’s #4 ranking and improving his incredible slate to 357-56-1.
Petchtanong is often seen training with the striking elite, such as ONE World Champion Superbon Singha Mawynn and legendary Thai warrior Buakaw, and he has no shortage of experience to utilize against his younger Japanese foe.
In particular, Akimoto needs to watch out for Petchtanong’s punishing knees and solid straight punches when they face off on November 19.
