Lito Adiwang To Rematch Jeremy Miado At ONE Fight Night 16 On Prime Video
A year and a half after their first encounter ended abruptly, Filipino strawweight MMA contenders Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang and Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado will run it back at the Madison Square Garden of the East.
The high-stakes rematch is set for ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video, which will broadcast live in U.S. primetime on Friday, November 3, from the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
These ferocious strikers initially met in March 2022 at ONE X, the organization’s 10-year anniversary show.
Following a competitive opening stanza, Adiwang suffered a serious leg injury, which led to a second-round TKO stoppage victory for “The Jaguar.”
That injury would ultimately be diagnosed as a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which put “Thunder Kid” on the shelf for a long period of time.
A lot has changed for both men since that fateful night at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Miado scored his fourth straight finish with a third-round TKO victory over future ONE World Title challenger “Mini T” Danial Williams in October 2022. However, he snapped his impressive streak with a submission loss to then-undefeated Russian destroyer Mansur Malachiev this past June.
Now, he’ll look to rebuild his momentum – and that starts by doubling down against his compatriot.
Meanwhile, Adiwang made a full recovery, left Team Lakay in his home nation, and joined HIIT Studio in Bali, Indonesia, to prepare for his return.
And a thunderous return he made, as the Filipino knocked out fellow striker Adrian Mattheis in just 23 seconds at the epic ONE Friday Fights 34: Rodtang vs. Superlek card this past September.
Now riding high from that statement performance, Adiwang will attempt to follow it up by getting some revenge against Miado on November 3.
