American Star Alyse Anderson Returns At ONE X, Draws India’s Asha Roka

Another thrilling atomweight mixed martial arts battle has been added to the action-packed ONE X showcase on 26 March, as American star Alyse Anderson is scheduled to collide with Indian striker Asha Roka.

Anderson earned a reputation as a talented rising star in the American MMA scene.

The martial arts phenom dominated the amateur circuit, and that success carried over to the professional ranks, where she compiled a 5-1 record with three of those victories coming via stoppage.

Last September, Anderson made her ONE Championship debut at the promotion’s historic first all-female event, ONE: EMPOWER, but fell to undefeated Japanese phenom Itsuki Hirata via unanimous decision.

Now, she enters “gangsta mode” and looks to rebound in epic fashion at ONE X.

Alyse Anderson teased this upcoming match in a recent Instagram post

Standing across from her will be Roka, a decorated boxer who previously won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships.

The Indian sensation has brilliantly applied her skills in “the sweet science” to mixed martial arts competition, added a submissions arsenal to her toolbox, and won her first four professional fights in round one. 

However, she fell short in her next two bouts against Stamp Fairtex and Gina Iniong.

When she locks horns with Anderson at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 26 March, she’ll be looking for her first ONE Championship win – and nothing would be sweeter than to achieve victory at the promotion’s historic 10-year anniversary show.

Roka recently told ONE Championship:

“ONE X is a huge event, and I am glad to be a part of an event of this magnitude. I have lost two fights, but I am still returning to the Circle, which is a big thing. I must win this fight, so pressure is there. I am working hard to win this match.”

Aside from the Alyse Anderson vs. Asha Roka matchup at ONE X, four other atomweight bouts will be contested at the 10-year anniversary show.

ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee defends her belt against Thai megastar Stamp Fairtex in the main event.

Also, Denice Zamboanga rematches her old foe Ham Seo Hee, and undefeated Japanese phenom Itsuki Hirata squares off against Malaysian sensation Jihin Radzuan.

In addition to those MMA fights, ONE Championship recently confirmed an atomweight grappling match between newest signee Danielle Kelly and veteran martial artist Mei Yamaguchi.
