Nong-O To Defend ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title Against Alaverdi Ramazanov At ONE On Prime Video 6
Nong-O Gaiyanghadao will look to extend his record-breaking run as the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion on Friday, January 13.
The Thai legend is officially set to defend his belt against Russian star and former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Alaverdi Ramazanov at ONE on Prime Video 6 in front of a home crowd at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Nong-O has been utterly dominant since signing with ONE Championship in 2018.
He’s amassed a perfect slate of 9-0 against an elite list of world-class strikers, with seven of those wins coming in World Championship contests.
Notably, the 35-year-old has looked stronger with every outing, registering stoppage victories in his last four appearances against the likes of Liam Harrison and Saemapetch Fairtex.
However, Ramazanov owns the skills and experience to offer a stern test.
The 27-year-old has gone 6-3 against some of the biggest names in ONE, and his back-to-back wins over Pongsiri PK.Saenchai and Capitan Petchyindee earned him this shot at Nong-O’s gold.
“Babyface Killer” has the kind of punching power to change any fight in an instant, and he’ll enter this five-round contest with plenty of confidence and momentum.
Nong-O and Ramazanov were originally slated to face off in a World Champion vs. World Champion battle two years ago, but the COVID-19 pandemic canceled that showdown.
The pair were then matched up again for ONE X this past March, but it was scratched for a second time. Now, “Babyface Killer” will hope the third time’s the charm for his massive opportunity against the Muay Thai icon.
This is the first World Title tilt announced for ONE on Prime Video 6, which will also feature the mixed rules super-fight between Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex and Algerian-French great Anissa Meksen.
