Nong-O Vs. Kongthoranee And Four Other Matchups Added To ONE Fight Night 28

Nong O Hama Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai ONE Friday Fights 26

An explosive ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title showdown has already been announced for ONE Fight Night 28: Prajanchai vs. Barboza on Prime Video, and now, several more matchups have been added to the event at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

Set to air live in U.S. primetime on Friday, February 7, the card will see former long-reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama take on rising star Kongthoranee Sor Sommai in a pivotal flyweight clash that pits the older generation against the new guard.

Nong-O is undeniably one of the greatest Muay Thai strikers in history, but he’s nearing the end of his legendary career.

The Thai won his first 10 fights in ONE, claiming the bantamweight Muay Thai crown and successfully defending it seven times to cement himself as a global icon. In 2023, he lost the gold to British superstar Jonathan Haggerty and has gone 1-2 since then, leaving many fans to wonder if retirement is around the corner.

For his part, the 38-year-old has brushed aside retirement talk and is motivated to prove he still belongs among the best of the best – and he hopes to do that down a weight class at flyweight.

However, Nong-O has been given no easy task for his first appearance at 135 pounds.

A former three-time Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion, Kongthoranee has made a name for himself in the talent-laden flyweight Muay Thai division, where he’s earned the #4 spot in the official rankings.

The powerful 28-year-old has lost just two times across 12 appearances in ONE and will come into ONE Fight Night 28 on an impressive two-bout winning streak.

Kongthoranee will look to employ his well-rounded and technical striking game to defeat Nong-O and solidify himself as a future ONE World Title challenger.

Jeremy Miado vs. Gilbert Nakatani

Four other bouts – each designed to produce fireworks – have been confirmed for the February 7 U.S. primetime event.

Although American standout Gilbert Nakatani came up short against #2-ranked flyweight MMA contender Yuya Wakamatsu in his promotional debut, he impressed fans with his unending aggression and never-say-die attitude.

He’ll aim to bounce back in his sophomore appearance when he locks horns with Filipino fan favorite Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado in a flyweight MMA tilt.

Miado is renowned for his all-action style and ruthless finishing abilities, but after finding himself on the longest losing skid of his career, he’s hungrier than ever to make a statement against the talented American.

Felipe Lobo vs. Saemapetch II

In bantamweight Muay Thai action, former two-time ONE World Title challenger Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo will square off with decorated Thai veteran Saemapetch Fairtex in a rematch of the pair’s unforgettable 2023 bout.

In their first encounter, Saemapetch largely dominated the first two-and-a-half rounds. But in the third and final frame, the Brazilian found a home for his thunderous punches and scored a stunning come-from-behind knockout.

While “Demolition Man” will aim to put his stamp on the rivalry, the Thai hopes to prove that their first fight was a fluke.

Lito Adiwang vs. Keito Yamakita

Surging strawweight MMA competitors Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang and Keito “Pocket Monk” Yamakita will throw down in a pivotal contest that has all the makings of a fast-paced war.

Adiwang has been a mainstay of the strawweight MMA division’s upper echelon for nearly six years and will come into the clash on a three-fight winning streak.

“Thunder Kid’s” dynamic striking game will be put to the test against Yamakita’s elite wrestling and suffocating grappling.

The Japanese phenom has scored back-to-back wins to earn the #5 spot in the strawweight MMA rankings and knows that a third consecutive triumph would do wonders for his climb toward 26 pounds of gold.

Sean Climaco vs. Diego Paez

Finally, two of America’s top Muay Thai strikers will go toe-to-toe, as Road to ONE tournament winner Sean “The One” Climaco battles Diego Paez in a flyweight tilt.

Climaco shined in his promotional debut with a brutal first-round knockout of Josue “Tuzo” Cruz, but he subsequently fell against undefeated phenom Johan Estupinan.

The heavy-handed Californian hopes to give a rude welcome to ONE newcomer Paez.

The 30-year-old scrapper enjoyed a dominant amateur career and is already off to a hot start as a professional. He knows that a win over “The One” on February 7 would make waves on the global scene.
