ONE Fight Night 30 Results: Carrillo Knocks Out Sitthichai; Ten Pow And Zakirov Earn Crucial Wins

Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong Nico Carrillo ONE Fight Night 30 3

On Friday, April 4, the stars of ONE Championship returned to U.S. primetime for a memorable display of elite martial arts.

ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs. Knowles on Prime Video went down at the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, as fans were treated to 11 matchups contested under MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling rules.

Here, we recap the first nine fights that took place ahead of the World Title main events.

Carrillo Dazzles In Return To Featherweight

After losing his bid for the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title, Nico “King of the North” Carrillo enjoyed a smashing return to the featherweight Muay Thai division by folding #5-ranked contender Sitthichai “Killer Kid” Sitsongpeenong in half with a second-round KO.

The Scottish powerhouse set the tone early with a beautiful elbow that opened a gash on Sitthichai’s forehead. The Thai legend bravely fought back, landing boxing combinations to begin the second round – but that’s when Carrillo turned up the heat.

“King of the North” scored his first knockdown with a body shot, and while Sitthichai seemingly recovered, it wasn’t long until a devastating left hook to the body shut him down for good at the 2:20 mark of round two.

The incredible bounce-back win upped Carrillo’s record to 28-4, earned him a US$50,000 performance bonus, and showed that his power is just as dangerous in the higher weight class.

Ten Pow Stops Seksan In Muay Thai Stunner

Asa “The American Ninja” Ten Pow picked up the biggest victory of his career with a thrilling third-round TKO of beloved Thai brawler Seksan Or Kwanmuang in the pair’s 142-pound Muay Thai fight.

Ten Pow’s counter-striking was crispy and powerful throughout the entire fight, as he dropped Seksan late in the first round with a thunderous right hand and then again in the second with an onslaught of vicious left hands.

The 35-year-old kept up the aggression in the third with endless combinations, and while his Thai counterpart fought to the bitter end, the bout was ultimately called off 37 seconds into the third frame following a third knockdown.

Ten Pow’s shocking stoppage of “The Man Who Yields To No One” pushed his career slate to 15-4 overall.

Zakirov Stays Unbeaten With Powerful Win Over Masunyane

Undefeated phenom Sanzhar “Tornado” Zakirov continued his flawless run in ONE Championship by outclassing South African star Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane and taking a unanimous decision win in their flyweight MMA clash.

In a battle of elite wrestlers, the striking exchanges turned out to be pivotal – and that’s where the #5-ranked contender shined the brightest.

The 21-year-old from Uzbekistan used his reach to keep #3-ranked strawweight MMA contender Masunyane at bay, connecting with straight lefts and uppercuts. “Little Giant” did have his moments – landing a takedown after a flying knee in the second round – but that proved to be his final stand.

“Tornado” was back at it in the third with his long and looping punches. Finally, a late takedown, some excellent back control, and relentless ground-and-pound sealed the win, pushing Zakirov to 15-0 for his career.

Jarvis Outstrikes Chafi In Entertaining U.S. Primetime Debut

After securing a six-figure contract at ONE Friday Fights last November, 24-year-old George “G-Unit” Jarvis proved his worth in his U.S. primetime debut by evening the score with a past foe.

The English upstart dropped Mouhcine Chafi twice throughout their lightweight Muay Thai fight to surge up the scorecards and earn the unanimous decision victory.

The first eight-count came in round one when Jarvis floored Chafi with a left hook. The Spanish-Moroccan beat the count, but a round later, Jarvis once again sent him careening into the canvas with a right hand.

That was all the judges needed to make their decision at the end of round three.

Now with a sensational 27-4 record and four consecutive wins in ONE, Jarvis sent a powerful message to reigning divisional kingpin Regian Eersel.

Elliott Overwhelms Takeuchi En Route To Third-Round TKO

Paul Elliott put on a dominant showing to score a third-round TKO win over Ryogo Takeuchi in their heavyweight MMA showdown, scoring his first ONE Championship victory in the process.

It was one-way traffic from the get-go, with the Englishman utilizing his wrestling to dominate while occasionally landing big shots on the feet, including two huge left hands and a head kick in the second round that sent Takeuchi to the canvas.

While the unbeaten Japanese debutant survived some scary moments in the second – including being put in a crucifix – there was no surviving Elliott’s onslaught in the third.

Another left hand sent Takeuchi down, and this time, Elliott finished things off by taking the mount and raining down punches. The TKO came at the 1:00 mark of round three, improving “King of the North” to 7-2 in his career.

Andrey Dominates Williams In Impressive ONE Debut

In featherweight submission grappling action, IBJJF World Champion Fabricio “Hokage” Andrey shined in his promotional debut against fellow ONE newcomer Ashley Williams.

The Brazilian phenom took control of the match from the opening bell, landing several foot sweeps and takedowns before securing the top position. The 25-year-old then completed multiple clean guard passes and eventually settled into side control, where he maintained dominant positions and hunted for submissions throughout the middle minutes.

Williams mounted leg-lock attacks of his own late, but ultimately, it was Andrey’s superior guard-passing, positional control, and overall effective aggression that earned him the unanimous decision.

With the victory, “Hokage” improved his sterling career record to 99-24.

El Jamari One-Ups His Big Brother By Decimating Thongpoon

Elmehdi El Jamari made a statement in his promotional debut, not only defeating Thongpoon PK Saenchai like his older brother Zakaria did via decision – but doing it with a first-round knockout.

El Jamari came out with his guard high and traded tight punches with Thongpoon. The Moroccan then clipped his foe on the head with a right punch to score an eight-count.

The Thai briefly regained his composure, but moments later, El Jamari dipped under a punch and countered with a crushing left hook, sending Thongpoon crashing to the canvas for good at 2:56 of round one.

With his debut win, “The Sniper” nudged his record to 27-1 and helped the El Jamari family go 2-0 against Thongpoon.

Aragon Dominates Jihin To Earn First ONE Win

Jihin Radzuan Macarena Aragon ONE Fight Night 30 29

Macarena Aragon turned to her judo and top control in taking her first victory in ONE Championship with a dominant unanimous decision over veteran Jihin Radzuan in their three-round atomweight MMA bout.

The 22-year-old Argentinian quickly secured a body lock and took her Malaysian foe to the ground. She would keep Jihin there for the majority of the opening round, landing occasional knees to the head and swarming with punches.

Things stayed the same in the second as Aragon took “Shadow Cat” to the ground each time she got the chance. She also produced a pair of submission attempts – a beautiful judo throw to a scarf hold and then a rear-naked choke near the end of the round.

Aragon was dominant even in the few striking exchanges, landing a clean uppercut early in the third before once again taking control from the top position, leaving Jihin no chance to turn the fight around.

After three rounds, Aragon took the clear-cut nod from all three judges.

Bumina-ang Orchestrates Destructive First-Round Finish Of Mastromarini

Filipino rising star Carlo Bumina-ang scored his second consecutive first-round KO win as he pulverized ONE newcomer Mauro Mastromarini in their bantamweight MMA matchup.

The 26-year-old clocked into the office and went right to work, testing the Argentinian on the feet. And after a few brief scuffles and scrambles, Bumina-ang truly laid it on.

He cracked Mastromarini with a left hook that sent him reeling backward and down. From there, the Team Lakay standout unloaded a barrage of left punches until referee Herb Dean waved off the bout at the 2:45 mark of the opening round.

With the impressive win, Bumina-ang moved his record to 8-1 with seven finishes as he continued to show why he earned a contract at ONE Friday Fights.
