Pacio Vs. Catalan, Plus Folayang And Stamp Return At ONE: MASTERS OF FATE

Joshua Pacio celebrates with Eduard Folayang

ONE Championship will return to the Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines on Friday, 8 November, and an all-Filipino ONE Strawweight World Title bout will headline the card.

In the main event of ONE: MASTERS OF FATE, Baguio City’s Joshua “The Passion” Pacio will defend his coveted belt against hometown hero Rene “The Challenger” Catalan.

This will be the Team Lakay representative’s first test since he reclaimed the gold from his old foe, Yosuke “The Ninja” Saruta, in April. He defeated the Japanese star via knockout, which was later named the best in ONE Championship history.

Catalan, a multiple-time Wushu World Champion, earned his ONE Strawweight World Title opportunity thanks to an incredible career turnaround.

The 40-year-old, who owns and operates Catalan Fighting Systems, began his mixed martial arts career with two losses and a no-contest.

Following a 20-month break from competition, he returned to the Circle and defeated his next six opponents — including former titleholder Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito via first-round TKO in March  to become the number one contender.

This contest will be supported by a stacked undercard of mixed martial arts and Muay Thai bouts, which includes some of the most popular local and international stars.

In the co-main event, Filipino icon and former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang will square off against Mongolia’s Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu, who is coming off a win in his promotional debut against Thailand’s Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai.

ONE: MASTERS OF FATE will also mark the return of ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion Stamp Fairtex, who submitted Asha Roka in mixed martial arts action back in August.

The Thai superstar will continue her quest for World Title gold in a third sport, but in order to take a step forward, she will need to defeat Vietnamese-American rising star Bi “Killer Bee” Nguyen.
