Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol Is Coming To Entertain In Jakarta
ONE Championship is just days away from its first show of 2019, and Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol is determined to set the benchmark for the year ahead.
At ONE: ETERNAL GLORY, “Thathie” will go for her sixth win in seven bouts at home in Jakarta, Indonesia against India’s Puja “The Cyclone” Tomar.
The national wushu champion had an incredible 2018 – picking up five wins as part of her campaign as the most active athlete in The Home Of Martial Arts.
This year, she hopes to build on her success and earn a shot at the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title. The 30-year-old star is confident she can move one step closer to her dream with another victory in her first match of this year – and give her fans something to shout about.

“I am grateful to receive yet another opportunity [to compete] this year, and I hope this could be the start of something great,” Lumban Gaol says.
“My only goal is to give the best performance and entertain the home audience with a good win.”
On 19 January, “Thathie” will meet India’s Tomar who has been the pride of her nation as a champion for four consecutive years on her country’s wushu scene.
The 25-year-old also made a massive impact when she began her mixed martial arts career with two knockouts in a combined 45 seconds.
Matched against Lumban Gaol’s own striking prowess, fans could be set for an all-action stand-up battle, but “Thathie” knows she will have to be smart to prevail.

She is working hard with her coach at Siam Training Camp, Zuli Silawanto, to improve her technique and conditioning, and ensure she can use a full range of mixed martial arts skills.
“Tomar’s strength is definitely her power, but from what I see in her matches, her weakness is the ground game,” says Lumban Gaol.
“The preparation for this year has been all about discipline; I am training a lot harder to get the maximum results.
“My coach instructed me to work more on my stamina, power, and techniques to even the odds.”
If “Thathie” wins this match, she will continue her winning streak from last year and extend her record for the most victories in ONE atomweight history.

With those kinds of statistics on her résumé, she will be in a strong position to stake her claim for a date with “Unstoppable” Angela Lee for the gold down the road.
“My only conviction this year is to play strong in each match and improve after every fight, so I can take home the ONE women’s atomweight belt,” she says.
“I will always accept as many bouts as possible that God and ONE provide for me.
“The only target for an athlete is to get the gold and to entertain our fans.”
In 2018, Lumban Gaol proved that she is a force to be reckoned with, with highlight-reel finishes and dominant performances against some of her peers on similar trajectories.
Her job now is to go one step further, and that begins with her battle against Tomar at ONE: ETERNAL GLORY.
