Rodlek Hits One-Punch KO To Stop Spirited Andrew Miller

Rodlek PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym defeats Andrew "Maddog Fairtex" Miller by knockout

Andrew “Maddog Fairtex” Miller put in a valiant showing in his late-notice call-up to face Rodlek PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym, but he could not stay out of the way of the Thai slugger’s tremendous power for all three rounds.

Rodlek found a home for a short right hand early in the third round to claim the KO victory in their ONE Super Series bantamweight Muay Thai contest at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES in Manila, Philippines on Friday, 2 August.

Miller – who accepted this match less than two weeks before event night – established his range early at the Mall Of Asia Arena with sharp jabs and push kicks to make the most of his 12-centimeter heigh advantage. These long-range strikes helped to ward off his rival’s power punching output.

He found more success when he caught a kick from the man from PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym, countered with a straight right to the body, and then dumped him to the canvas. Everything was going to plan for the Scotsman, as Rodlek struggled to close the distance and connect with his fists.

The Channel 7 Stadium Muay Thai World Champion came out with more pressure in the second stanza, however, and began to land more punishing low kicks to the inside and outside of the Fairtex representative’s thigh.

Miller scored well when he deftly evaded another incoming low kick and replied with an accurate left foot to the face, but the Thai kept on marching forward.

He chopped away with his shin to the thigh and took aim with his hands, but his rival stifled his attacks by engaging in the clinch.

By this point, Miller was less active with his jab and push kicks, which offered his more experienced opponent the chance to get inside with his kicks and elbows.

The lack of time to prepare seemed to take a toll on “Maddog Fairtex” in the third frame. He tried to smother Rodlek’s punches with his clinch again, but as he reached out, he left an avenue for a thudding right hand to come through the gap and land directly on his jaw.

The Bangkok resident’s accurate shot sent Miller to the canvas, and though he got to his feet, he stumbled as he tried to regain his footing, and the referee waved off the contest after 49 seconds of round three.

Rodlek pushed his ONE Super Series slate to 2-0, and his overall record to 127-40-5.
