Rodtang Vs. Michael Flyweight Muay Thai Grand Prix Semifinal Added To ONE On Prime Video 1
The highly anticipated ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix semifinal fight between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Savvas Michael is now locked in.
The exciting strikers will square off on the main card of ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II, which airs live in U.S. primetime on Friday, August 26, from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Rodtang earned his semifinal spot with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Jacob Smith at ONE 157 on May 20.
“The Iron Man” employed his usual relentless offense to subdue the tough English athlete over the course of three rounds, but he also displayed a more calculated approach that showcased his evolution as a fighter.
As the division’s current ruler, the 24-year-old Thai was already the tournament favorite, and his one-sided victory over Smith further cemented that status.
Michael was equally impressive in his demolition of Amir Naseri on the same night, looking better than ever with a slick but powerful performance against the Iranian-Malaysian.
The victory has drawn lots of attention from other stars in the sport, with British Muay Thai legend Liam Harrison praising “The Baby Face Killer” and backing his chances to upset Rodtang.
The winner of this clash will advance to face either Thai sensation Superlek Kiatmoo9 or Brazilian hard-hitter Walter Goncalves in the tournament final. The date for their semifinal contest has not yet been confirmed.
