Shannon Wiratchai And Amir Khan Flex Acting Muscles In New Drama Series
Amir Khan and Shanon “OneShin” Wiratchai have parlayed their tough-guy reputations to land acting roles in a major new television series.
The former opponents were in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 13 September to film a remake of The Bridge – a crime show based in Denmark and Sweden.
The Asian version is being produced for OTT video service Viu, and is set on the border of Singapore and Malaysia.
The plot of the show concerns investigators from both sides of the border who have to join forces when a body is found between the two countries, and catch the killer.
The ONE Championship duo won roles as ‘secret service agents,’ but Khan, for one, says he does not expect this opportunity to develop into a full-time acting career – at least, not yet.
“If they like me, then I wouldn’t mind making it a career, ultimately,” he says.
“It’s a small, tiny role, and it’s just while I’m off training for a week.”
While the Evolve representative waits to see if he can secure more assignments in front of the camera, he expects to return to training in the coming weeks to prepare for his next bout.
In an interview earlier this week, he revealed he would like to compete at ONE: HEART OF THE LION in Singapore – and there are several elite opponents on his radar.
