Wiratchai is a pioneer of mixed martial arts in his homeland, and one of the most popular athletes in his division after a long and exciting run in The Home Of Martial Arts that dates all the way back to its early days in 2012.
The 30-year-old has scored six of his seven wins on the global stage for martial arts via stoppage, and boasts victories over well-known athletes including Peter Davis, Mitch “The Dragon” Chilson, and Amir Khan.
He will appear as a replacement for Khan, who will now face Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev in the semifinals of the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix on the same night.
Lapicus will enter the world’s largest martial arts organization with a perfect 12-0 record and 100-percent first-round finishing rate. The 23-year-old is an all-rounder, with eight submissions and four knockouts.
He was born in Moldova in Eastern Europe, but he now lives in Milan, Italy, where he trains out of Team Petrosyan with ONE Super Series star Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan, who will also star on the ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON main card as part of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix.
The night’s main event will see ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki defend his belt against Christian “The Warrior” Lee after Nieky “The Natural” Holzken meets Regian “The Immortal” Eersel in a battle for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title in the co-main event.
