Sitthichai Vs. Nico Carrillo Featherweight Muay Thai Clash Added To ONE Fight Night 30

A crucial featherweight Muay Thai showdown between decorated Thai legend Sitthichai “Killer Kid” Sitsongpeenong and Scottish knockout artist Nico “King of the North” Carrillo is officially set for U.S. primetime on April 4 at ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs. Knowles on Prime Video.

That matchup will take place at Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium and will carry major implications for the featherweight Muay Thai division’s World Title picture. It joins a pair of previously announced World Title fights on the card.

The 26-year-old Carrillo has turned heads since making his ONE debut in April 2023, beginning with four straight knockout wins that established him as the #1-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai division.

But in January at ONE 170, he suffered a stunning first-round KO loss to Thai-Algerian phenom Nabil Anane in their battle for the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.

“King of the North’s” impressive winning streak included a trio of victories over some of Thailand’s most respected fighters, including former long-reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama and battle-hardened veteran Saemapetch Fairtex.

He will now bring his immense power and savage finishing instincts to the talent-laden featherweight Muay Thai division – a move that many fans and pundits predicted given his hulking frame.

In the other corner, Sitthichai is undoubtedly hungry to exact revenge for his compatriots.

Currently ranked #4 in the featherweight Muay Thai division, the 33-year-old is a former Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion and a multiple-time Glory Kickboxing World Champion, long beloved for his fast-paced and fearless style of striking.

As the last man to defeat current ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai, “Killer Kid” knows that a victory over a dangerous upstart like Carrillo would do wonders for his climb toward a World Title shot and another date with Tawanchai.

What’s more, considering each man’s willingness to trade blows at a furious speed, fans should expect an all-action war at ONE Fight Night 30.
