Stamp Fairtex has finally won the big one.

The 20-year-old Muay Thai ace relied on her reach, power, and tenacity to defeat ONE Kickboxing Atomweight World Champion “Killer Bee” Kai Ting Chuang via unanimous decision at ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES and claim the gold.

It was the first World Title win of her 15-year career, and she captured the belt in front of a home crowd at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, 6 October.

Chuang looked to get through the Muay Thai stylist’s reach, close the distance, and enter boxing range after the opening bell sounded.

Stamp, however, immediately showed her effectiveness at controlling the range, as she kept her foe at bay with jabs and cracking kicks to the midsection.

These efforts from the Pattaya, Thailand native forced the champion to overcommit on her strikes.

“Killer Bee” barreled into range, but she was repeatedly tied up by the challenger and dumped to the mat. While that was not legal under the kickboxing rule set, it showed Stamp had a strength advantage.

This trend continued into the second frame.

When Chuang was unable to get past the Thai’s kicks, she was forced to throw caution to the wind and charge in. In doing so, however, she was repeatedly dragged into Stamp’s world — the clinch, where she was battered with knees until the referee separated them.

The 23-year-old Chinese striker finally closed the distance on her rival in the third round and landed her best punches of the contest.

Despite this success, the narrative remained largely unchanged, as Chuang was repeatedly bullied in the clinch whenever she got into boxing range.

In the fourth stanza, Chuang continued to struggle to break through the Fairtex Gym representative’s range, and she began getting creative with spinning back fists and spinning kicks to the body.

Although she continued to find brief moments of success, the real story continued to be the clinch. The moment “Killer Bee” got in close, she was sucked into a tie-up by the challenger, and one of those exchanges allowed Stamp to land rapid-fire knees to the body.

The fifth and final round was arguably the Chinese athlete’s best, as she managed to crash through the guard of a tiring Stamp on several occasions.

However, the Thai star continued to pull for the clinch, where she punished her opponent with punches and more knees to the midsection. As the seconds ticked away, she punctuated her performance by cornering Chuang and battering her with one last flurry against the ropes.

The co-main event bout was a closely-contested affair, but ultimately, the judges rendered a unanimous decision for the local favorite, who celebrated with the Thai fans in attendance.

Stamp moves her record to an impressive 61-15-5 and leaves the Impact Arena with the ONE Kickboxing Atomweight World Championship firmly around her waist.
