Ryan is considered by many to be one of the greatest submission grapplers of all time.
The 25-year-old American has won a plethora of accolades throughout his career. He’s a three-time ADCC World Champion, a three-time IBJJF No-Gi World Champion, and a four-time Eddie Bravo Invitational Champion.
Now, Ryan will take his elite skills to the Circle, where he will compete in submission grappling and could also make his long-awaited debut in mixed martial arts.
In doing so, Ryan could follow a similar path to his Danaher Death Squad teammate Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon.
When Tonon first entered ONE, he defeated former ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki in the promotion’s first-ever Grappling Super-Match in May 2017.
“The Lion Killer” then made his mixed martial arts debut in March 2018. He’s since won all six of his professional bouts, finishing five of his opponents in the process, and earning the #3 featherweight ranking.
A date has not been scheduled for Ryan’s debut, but stay tuned to ONEFC.com for more details.
