Charlie Peters started his ONE Super Series featherweight Muay Thai battle with Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy well as he attacked his rival with a series of kicks to the legs and body, and even swept the Thai athlete to the canvas. However, the Thai soon took charge.

He controlled the distance with his jab and push kicks, and though the Brit stepped in with some hard punches toward the end of the round, his success ended there. Petchmorakot came out for the second stanza with more aggression, and closed the distance to use his short-range weapons to devastating effect.

He sent “Charlie Boy” to the canvas for the first time with a left elbow and a pair of left knees. When the Brit returned to his feet, Petchmorakot walked him down with his jab, and then stepped in with another piercing knee to seal the deal via knockout at the 1:48 mark.

The two-division Lumpinee Stadium and WMC Muay Thai World Champion is now 159-35-2 as a professional.

It took little more than one round for Nguyen “No. 1” Tran Duy Nhat to finish Yuta Watanabe in their ONE Flyweight Super Series Muay Thai match-up.

The Vietnamese athlete got Watanabe to lower his guard by throwing body kicks at the start of round one, and then switched things up to score a knockdown with a right head kick. The Japanese athlete survived, but Duy Nhat found a home for his high kick again with his next strike to score another eight-count.

“No.1” pushed forward in the final seconds of the round as he attempted to finish the contest with a flurry of punches and knees, but Watanabe was saved by the bell.

However, it only took 30 seconds of the second stanza for the Ho Chi Minh City native to strike again. Another high kick sent Watanabe down for the third time, and referee Olivier Coste stopped the contest before the count of five. The Vietnamese hero is now 2-0 with two KOs in The Home Of Martial Arts, and 12-2-1 overall.

Shuya “Stealth” Kamikubo’s game plan was clear in his bantamweight match-up with Bruno “Puccibull” Pucci. He shot for the takedown as soon as the contest started, but he had a hard time controlling the Brazilian, who pulled guard and threatened to take the back twice.

However, the Japanese athlete started to deal damage with knees to the head on the ground toward the end of the first stanza, and succeeded with that strategy again at the start of the second. When his rival tried to get back to his feet, “Stealth” put him straight back down and controlled position.

“Puccibull” knew he probably needed a finish in the final round and came out to strike, but he was caught clean with punches. He tried a takedown of his own, but it was stuffed, and he was put on his back again.

Kamikubo continued to dominate with ground and pound until the final bell, and deservedly swept the scorecards to improve to 4-0 in ONE, and 11-1-1 overall.

Liam Nolan earned his first victory in The Home Of Martial Arts after a three-round featherweight Muay Thai tussle with the Netherlands’ Brown Pinas.

The British competitor opened up the contest with strong left kicks to the legs and body. Pinas tried to reply, but the Knowlesy Academy representative maintained distance with teeps to the thigh.

The Londoner kept up his kicking offense throughout the second, and controlled the range with his jabs and push kicks.

It was not until the third stanza that Pinas found a way inside to land his boxing combinations. The man from ARJ Trainingen scored with his left hook and piercing straight right, but his late success was not enough to sway the judges, and Nolan took the unanimous decision to claim his 17th professional win.
