Tawanchai To Defend Featherweight Muay Thai World Title Against Superbon At ONE Fight Night 15
A massive clash between two of the planet’s top pound-for-pound strikers is coming to ONE Championship this fall.
On Friday, October 6, reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai will put his gold on the line against former featherweight kickboxing king Superbon Singha Mawynn at ONE Fight Night 15 on Prime Video.
Airing live in North American primetime, this World Title showdown pits two of Thailand’s finest strikers against each other in one of the most high-profile battles of their respective careers.
For Tawanchai, the match will be a relatively quick turnaround from his upcoming ONE kickboxing debut against Davit Kiria, scheduled for August 4 at ONE Fight Night 13: Allazov vs. Grigorian on Prime Video.
An immensely powerful yet patient knockout artist, the Bangkok native has won four in a row, capturing the featherweight Muay Thai crown and firmly establishing himself as a ruthless finisher along the way.
And while he is testing the waters in kickboxing as he pursues two-sport glory, Tawanchai has never backed down from a challenge. In fact, he is eager to defend his belt against a dangerous and deserving athlete like Superbon.
Currently the #1-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender, the Singha Mawynn Muay Thai Gym product has won four of five bouts in the world’s largest martial arts organization and possesses one of the most well-rounded, technical games in the striking arts.
After Superbon lost the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title to Chingiz Allazov this past January, he bounced back in a major way. The 32-year-old star secured a highlight-reel knockout over Tayfun Ozcan at ONE Fight Night 11 in June, proving that he’s still very much elite.
With both men in peak physical condition and at the top of their games, this all-Thai clash has the makings of an unforgettable classic.
