The Stars Predict Kiamrian Abbasov Vs. Christian Lee At ONE On Prime Video 4
Update: Kiamrian Abbasov missed weight for his ONE Welterweight World Title defense against Christian Lee. As a result, Abbasov has been stripped of the belt. The bout will proceed at catchweight. Only Lee will be eligible to win the World Title at ONE on Prime Video 4. If Abbasov wins, the World Title will remain vacant.
The biggest welterweight MMA fight of the year is just hours away.
This Friday, November 18, ONE Championship’s lightweight king Christian “The Warrior” Lee will move up a division to challenge ONE Welterweight World Champion Kiamrian “Brazen” Abbasov for the gold in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 4.
Nearly two years ago, Lee talked about his desire to test his skills against the welterweight elite and achieve his dreams of two-division glory.
Since that time, the Singaporean-American has mostly cleared out the lightweight ranks and recently finished old rival Ok Rae Yoon in dominant fashion to reclaim the ONE Lightweight World Title he felt that he had never truly lost.
Lee now has the chance to make his dream a reality, but Abbasov looks to dash the 24-year-old’s hopes.
The well-rounded Kyrgyz juggernaut has ruled the weight class since taking the belt from Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam in October 2019.
But after failing to lift the middleweight crown from Reinier de Ridder this past February in his own bid to achieve two-division glory, Abbasov is eager to return to winning ways and prove that the welterweight division is still his domain.
Ahead of the ONE on Prime Video 4 main event showdown, ONE Championship’s most beloved superstars make their predictions.
Roberto Soldic
“It’s going to be a good fight. At the top level, it’s always 50-50. I got Christian Lee by 60 percent and Kiamrian at 40 percent because [Lee] has better stand-up.”
Brandon Vera
“Christian’s been on the hunt for a really long time. He’s angry enough, and he’s in his prime enough. I think Christian’s going to take this one. Christian on top with elbows.”
Sage Northcutt
“I think it’s a toss-up and can go either way. Speed could be the advantage for Christian Lee, but Abbsaov is tough and likes to walk forward, so it’ll be a good fight!”
Halil Amir
“I think it’s a good matchup. Personally, I don’t like to do any predictions. But if I’m choosing the winner, it will be Kiamrian Abbasov because of his size and experience.”
Adriano Moraes
“Abbasov by unanimous decision. It is his division, and he is really tough. I think his wrestling game will make the difference in this fight.”
Jonathan Di Bella
“I predict that Christian Lee will win by knockout or unanimous decision. I believe Christian is faster and more accurate in his strikes than his opponent.”
Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida
“Lee. I think his game is complete, and he has all the tools to get this victory!”
Jackie Buntan
“I think Christian Lee will take the win. He’s an exciting fighter and comes to finish.”
Mark Sangiao
“We’ll see what Christian Lee is really made of against Kiamrian Abbasov. I’m siding with the World Champion on this one, and I predict a knockout win for Kiamrian Abbasov.”
Stephen Loman
“Christian Lee is a fantastic athlete. He is fast, strong, and very talented. But at Team Lakay, we always favor the champion. Abbasov is the champion for a reason. It’s going to be tough to come into his division and take his belt. There’s always a chance because it’s MMA, but it’s not going to be easy for Christian.”
Eduard Folayang
“I think the size advantage will be a factor for Kiamrian Abbasov going into this fight. He’s a natural welterweight, and Christian Lee will look to impose his skill and will. But I see Abbasov as more of a ground fighter. It’s going to be a good fight. Abbasov has the size advantage, but Lee is very skilled. I have it slightly for Abbasov. The champion has the advantage.”
