Victoria Lee Graduates From High School, Excited To Focus Fully On MMA Career

Rising atomweight talent Victoria “The Prodigy” Lee has taken ONE Championship by storm since joining the world’s largest martial arts organization early last year.

The 18-year-old Singaporean-American finished her first three opponents in the Circle and quickly established herself as a legitimate force in the division.

Still, the Hawaii resident was balancing her MMA training with her studies – but that will change now that she’s officially graduated from high school.

Moving forward, the Hawaii resident plans to dedicate her time to becoming the best mixed martial artist she can be.

She told ONE Championship:

“When I was fighting throughout the school year, it was definitely pretty difficult to juggle, like the timing of school and training, as well as the homework.

So now, it’s nice to have all that time in the day just to train. Now I get to focus on just training and it’s just a way more enjoyable experience.”

Lee made her ONE debut in February 2021, defeating Sunisa Srisen with a second-round rear-naked choke.

Months later, she returned to the Circle and finished Wang Luping by first-round triangle armbar. “The Prodigy” then recorded her first technical knockout victory against Victoria Souza to close out the year.

She certainly has a bright future ahead in MMA, but when it came to graduation, Lee made sure to relax and enjoy the moment.

The undefeated atomweight said:

“It was so nice to see my whole family in the crowd as I was walking up to get my diploma. And then afterward, we went to dinner, and we celebrated. It was just so nice to have the whole family there.”

Victoria Lee Excited To Showcase Her Skills In US Prime Time

A more focused Victoria Lee is a scary proposition for the rest of the atomweight division, and the teenage sensation is hoping to display her skills on an even bigger platform in the near future.

ONE Championship recently signed a massive five-year partnership with global streaming giant Amazon Prime Video Sports to air 12 of its live events during North American prime time annually.

For her part, “The Prodigy” would be thrilled to continue her career in front of millions of her compatriots on Prime Video.

She said:

“I think that’s a really big step for ONE. It’s going to allow so many more people to have access to watch the fights and make it more accessible.

Amazon Prime is so mainstream here, and I just think that’s awesome. If there’s an opportunity [to fight] there, that would definitely be the choice because that would just be awesome.”

The United MMA and Evolve MMA representative is currently working herself back into fight shape and hoping to make a return by the end of 2022

While she isn’t calling anybody out just yet, Lee is also confident that she’ll be ready to face a higher level of competition – perhaps even a contender in the official atomweight rankings.

The teenage phenom added:

“I would love to get back in the Circle. Maybe towards the end of this year. I just started training again, and I’ll definitely be ready by the end of this year.

“I have been watching some of the fights in my division. But I never want to choose a fight. Whoever’s ready and whoever’s next line, I’ll just be ready to fight. There’s no specific person that I want to choose. I do feel that my skills have prepared me and my training enough to face someone in the top five and be able to come out with a victory against them.”
