Watch The ONE 168: Denver Weigh-Ins And Hydration Tests
ONE 168: Denver is now within touching distance, but there’s one final hurdle for the athletes to clear before they compete on United States soil this Friday, September 6.
Ahead of ONE’s North American return at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, each competitor must pass the official weigh-ins and hydration tests to ensure they’re ready for action.
Fans can watch the proceedings live via the video below starting this Thursday, September 5, at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT.
The colossal main event is a World Champion vs. World Champion clash, with Jonathan “The General” Haggerty up against “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Haggerty is defending his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title against the reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion in a rematch that striking purists have been itching to see for years.
Superlek defeated Haggerty via a cut when they met six years ago, but since then, “The General” has emerged as one of the best pound-for-pound strikers on the planet by winning both Muay Thai and kickboxing golds.
“The Kicking Machine” is in equally devastating form and is perhaps the best overall striker in the world today, boasting a 12-fight winning streak that includes elite names like Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Takeru Segawa.
Although he is currently the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion, Superlek was born and raised in Muay Thai and wants to bring the belt back to the sport’s homeland.
With both men technically incredible and capable of stunning knockouts, fans should expect a memorable encounter this Friday.
In the co-main event, ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion Mikey Musumeci will defend his crown against late-notice replacement and reigning IBJJF World Champion Bebeto Oliveira.
Musumeci has long been considered one of the top pound-for-pound grapplers and was originally scheduled to move up three divisions and challenge Kade Ruotolo for the lightweight throne.
With Ruotolo out due to injury, the American megastar will instead face a dangerous challenge from Oliveira, who has become one of the top stars in both gi and no-gi BJJ competitions over the past few years.
Also on the card is a Muay Thai dream fight between legends of the sport in Liam “Hitman” Harrison and Seksan “The Man Who Yields To No One” Or Kwanmuang.
The hard-hitting icons have promised to leave everything in the Circle in a clash that pits two electric former World Champions against each other.
Harrison admits that game plans are likely to go out the window as both men look to deliver fireworks in one of the most highly anticipated striking battles of 2024.
There are other massive names slated to compete on the card as ONE returns to Denver.
Fans will get to see former two-division ONE MMA World Champion Aung La N Sang, the Muay Thai debut of former bantamweight MMA king John “Hands of Stone” Lineker, teenage phenoms Adrian Lee and Johan “Jojo” Ghazali, and much more.
Check out the full lineup before ONE 168: Denver begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT this Friday, September 6.
