The world’s largest martial arts organization will soon return to the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
But first, all 20 martial artists competing at ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Prime Video have one final step to complete before they are cleared to throw down.
Ahead of the much-anticipated fight card that airs live in U.S. primetime this Friday, January 10, each athlete must make weight and pass hydration testing to confirm they’re ready for action.
Fans can follow the proceedings live by watching the video below beginning at 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT this Thursday, January 9.
At the top of the card, reigning ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Tang Kai will put his gold on the line against undefeated phenom Akbar “Bakal” Abdullaev in a battle of devastating finishers.
While Tang boasts a 12-fight winning streak that’s established him as one of MMA’s pound-for-pound best, the hard-hitting Abdullaev owns an 11-0 professional record, a 100 percent finishing rate, and the confidence of a man who’s ready to claim 26 pounds of gold.
In a second battle for gold, surging Filipina scrapper Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga will take on Ukrainian powerhouse Alyona Rassohyna for the ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title.
Perhaps the division’s most well-rounded fighter, Zamboanga has put together an impressive three-fight winning streak to secure the #2 contender spot in the atomweight MMA rankings. Rassohyna, meanwhile, is one of two women to defeat reigning divisional queen Stamp Fairtex in the all-around sport.
A win for either woman at ONE Fight Night 27 would punch her ticket to a World Title unification bout with the Thai megastar.
Also on the card, former MMA World Champion John “Hands of Stone” Lineker will return for his toughest Muay Thai test yet when he faces decorated Thai striker “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in a bout that’s guaranteed to produce fireworks.
Other ONE superstars competing at ONE Fight Night 27 include creative American striker Luke “The Chef” Lessei, submission grappling standout Dante Leon, and undefeated atomweight MMA contender Chihiro Sawada.
