ONE Supports Frontline Professionals During COVID-19 Pandemic

ONE Championship donates four tons of medical supplies to Wuhan in the midst of the coronavirus

The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to spread around the globe, and it is severely impacting the world’s population.

ONE Championship, however, is doing its part to help by supporting the hardest-hit regions.

The company has been helping frontline health care workers since the height of the outbreak in its epicenter of Wuhan, China last February.

ONE donated four tons of medical supplies to the Tianmen Pneumonia Control Center when the Chinese city was under the most pressure, and the Hubei Provincial Charity Federation and local logistic providers hailed the martial arts organization’s efforts.

Although Wuhan has now started the process of recovery, the situation has spread further abroad, and now ONE has shifted its relief strategy to support other affected areas.

Those areas include Asian countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and India, which are all under strict controls to slow the transmission and impact of the coronavirus.

True to our mission, we want to be there for the healthcare workers on the frontlines, as they soldier on against COVID-19,” said Hari Vijayarajan, Chief Commercial Officer at ONE Championship.

“We salute these brave men and women who are putting their own lives on the line to save someone else’s. These are acts of respect, courage, discipline, and compassion – values that we personify in whatever we do at ONE. We hope that by contributing in a small way, we are able to provide care for the individuals and families that need it the most.”

In addition to the company’s proactive efforts to help bring medical supplies to infected areas, the organization’s world-class athletes have jumped on board to assist in the battle and provide encouragement.

ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon Vera, two-division ONE World Champion Aung La N Sang, ONE Featherweight World Champion Martin Nguyen, and the Filipino heroes from Team Lakay are just some of the martial artists who are supporting the #StayHome movement, disseminating information, and educating the fans.

Vera praised the “amazing job” of the frontline health care workers, urged people to adhere to government regulations, and recommended ways to entertain themselves.

Aung La N Sang, Nguyen, and Team Lakay offered workout advice, as well as solidarity with those in the midst of the crisis.

The burden has now shifted from Wuhan to Southeast Asia and around the globe, but the goal is still very much the same.

ONE is continuing its work with commercial and NGO partners to look at new and creative ways to support those worst affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is an extraordinary time in the world, but by working together, we can overcome it.
