Johnson Gets Surprise Tag-Team Partner In Return To Grappling
ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson got in some grappling work for the first time in four-and-a-half months this week, and he did so with the help of his “Mighty Wife,” Destiny.
The American mixed martial arts superstar shared a video of himself and Destiny grappling on the floor of their home on Monday, 15 June, and while his wife ultimately paid the price, it wasn’t due to her husband’s impressive skills.
As “Mighty Mouse” demonstrated a variety of submissions, the young couple’s daughter, Tanyth, walked into the frame holding a phone. Then, perhaps thinking she was helping out her dad in this head-to-head contest, the youngster dropped the phone squarely on her mother’s face.
It looked painful at first, but like a true champ, Destiny shook it off. “That was a doozy,” she later wrote in her own Instagram post.
While phone throwing isn’t allowed in mixed martial arts, could Demetrious one day add Tanyth to his corner for additional support?
In any case, the #1-ranked flyweight contender will need to get in all the grappling he can before attempting to dethrone ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes later this year.
