Vitaly Bigdash is based full time in Rostov– on–Don, where he lives with his wife and trains at Akhmat Fight Team. He started training in martial arts in 1996 as he wanted to be stronger, and signed up for Kyokushin karate lessons at a local sports club. He would go on to win numerous local and regional tournaments, earning a brown belt in the process.
Bigdash made his professional MMA debut in 2012, and despite coming from a karate background, he won the fight by armbar, showcasing his submission skills. He has since enjoyed success fighting in Ukraine, Chechnya, Turkey, as well as his native Russia.
In 2015, Bigdash was awarded a shot at then-ONE Middleweight World Champion Igor Svirid. Bigdash would show tremendous heart and courage, coming back from several knockdowns to stop Svirid in the second round. It was a war for the ages which won numerous ‘Fight of the Year’ awards.
A complete fighter, the undefeated Bigdash has finished all of his opponents to date, with a variety of knockout and submission wins showing how dangerous he is in all areas.
